Color weekends
Hi,
i don’t use align-weekends but would still like to see when they are even when they’re not free (otherwise highlight weekends does the trick)
I would appreciate an option to add some (customizable) color to them to be able to grasp them easier
Thanks!

Hi Maxim,
Thanks for the feedback, really appreciate it 🙂
Quick question: what doesn’t work for you with the current weekend highlight?
Maybe would you expect this option to stay enabled after a page refresh?
Also, would being able to choose the highlight color work for you?
Thanks!

I think it’s more to do with just generally highlighting weekends, more than just ‘free weekends’ - for quick and easy visuals

Weekends are already slightly highlighted, but yeah, it’s definitely not obvious enough right now. I’ll bump up the contrast so they’re easier to spot at a glance.

I’m not sure what screens your using, i’ve got 3 different monitors, and a macbook - and it’s really really slight - it’s not really ‘a glance’ at the moment, but I see they’re shaded very slightly differently - I’d want them to be as contrasty as the ‘Free Weekend’ highlight - perhaps a toggle for free/all or the ability to toggle a more contrasted weekend?

I’ve increased the contrast
If this feels insufficient, it should be possible to add a “high-contrast” mode or a colorpicker to choose the weekends background color.

hey, thanks for doing this!
I agree with Brendan, previous shading was very so slightly visible and current higher contrast is a lot better already, thanks a lot!
I am personally hunted by low contrast situations and some percentage of gray just vanishes sometimes - a lot depends on contrast, brightness, color temperature and other settings including i.e. night light or similar.
Having a color picker for weekend color is a solid fix - not only users will be able to select what fits them most (think colorblind or reduced contrast perception), but also aesthetics or avoiding color clashes with calendars, or maybe someone goes for a specific palette - color picker tackles it all.

Thanks for the clarification!
I agree, adding a color picker for the weekend background feels like a good and flexible solution, both for accessibility and personal preferences.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, I’ll get back to you in a few days.
